Good attendance to school is crucial to pupils achieving their potential, and receiving the support we can offer them as they prepare for their next steps in life. We monitor pupil attendance to school closely, and work proactively with families to promote high levels of attendance to school.
Please note that the Head teacher is only permitted to grant a leave of absence in school in exceptional circumstances.
Pupils cannot get the best from their education if they are frequently absent from school. We strive to ensure that attendance is as high as possible by supporting families to ensure that their child attends school every day, on time and ready to learn.
We recognise the importance of regular attendance to:
- Promote children’s welfare and ensure they are safe
- Ensure every pupil has access to the full time education to which they are entitled
- Ensure that pupils succeed whilst at school
- Ensure that pupils have access to the widest possible range of opportunities when they leave school
We ask that parents and carers support us in ensuring that their child has a high attendance figure. If your child is going to be absent from school for medical reasons please contact us by telephone as soon as possible.
