Careers Curriculum

Work Experience

Students are supported into work placements through the YES project. YES project work alongside Forest Moor School to provide a work placement ready package and work experience placements. The main purpose of the extended work placement is to support transition to post-16 apprenticeship.

Students take up placements in a variety of industries they have a personal interest in. Including Hospitality, Motor Vehicle, Building and Maintenance.

Forest Moor Careers Education

Forest Moor School works with all local colleges, apprenticeship opportunities and alternative post 16 provisions and are happy that all our students go onto further education. We continue all our careers work through the eight Gatsby benchmarks.

You can further support your child to research careers at home and explore what pathways they may choose by using the national careers advise site through this link: Careers advice – job profiles, information and resources | National Careers Service

  • At Forest Moor all students receive an age appropriate careers education through the personal, health and social education curriculum and all subjects recognise and include the importance of relating their curriculum to potential career choices in their subjects.
